COUNTY COUNCILS

VFW National and Department Bylaws allow that Posts within a County may form County Councils to promote mutual support of VFW programs.

The Department of Michigan presently has four chartered County Councils:
  • Macomb County Council in District 5 | 
  • Oakland County Council in District 5 | Gerald Gorski, Post 2645, geraldgorski@aol.com
  • Shiawassee County Council in District 9 | 
  • Muskegon County Council in District 12 | Gary White, Post 446, rock46@comcast.net

More than a Game: The legacy of the VFW Pool Tournament

In 1968, a friendly challenge to a game of pool was thrown out between VFW members from different parts of Michigan. Now, 56 years later, the VFW Michigan Pool League has attracted hundreds of veterans who compete annually.
